Our Holistic Retreat
At Optimum Health Institute (OHI), our program includes a series of immersive classes that support physical, mental, and spiritual transformation. Each class is designed with care to help you achieve a balanced and vibrant life. The peaceful setting in Oakland creates the perfect backdrop for healing, growth, and self-discovery.
Physical Health
Our detox program is central to your experience, offering a holistic approach that supports the body’s natural healing abilities. This includes a nutrient-rich, plant-based diet featuring raw, organic, and living foods, herbal teas, and fresh juices. These choices are designed to boost energy, remove toxins, and support cellular repair.
Physical wellness is also enhanced through movement practices like yoga, stretching, and gentle exercise. These activities help reduce stress, improve circulation, and promote clarity. Mindful breathing, guided meditation, and other relaxation techniques support the detox process and encourage mental stillness.
Workshops led by experienced wellness educators provide practical tools and knowledge to support ongoing detoxification and healthy living. Topics include hydration, fasting, and how to maintain a clean lifestyle beyond the retreat. Each session is focused on helping you understand your body and make informed choices for lasting wellness.
Mental Health
Our mental wellness program is designed to reduce stress and support emotional balance through a variety of integrative practices. Participants explore inner healing through individual support, group sessions, and self-reflective exercises.
Guided meditations, group therapy, and mindfulness classes provide space to process emotions, build resilience, and reconnect with your sense of purpose. You’ll also explore how lifestyle choices affect your mood and mindset, with a focus on nutrition’s role in mental clarity and emotional regulation.
Educational sessions teach practical techniques for stress management, emotional awareness, and self-care, all within a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment. Led by trained professionals, these classes offer insight and encouragement for continued emotional well-being after your stay.
Spiritual Health
True wellness involves connecting with something greater than yourself. Our spiritual offerings at OHI support that connection through prayer, meditation, and gratitude practices.
Although OHI is a non-denominational Christian healing ministry, people from all backgrounds and belief systems are welcome. The focus is on spiritual renewal and creating a meaningful connection with your inner self and the world around you.
Each class is thoughtfully designed to awaken the spirit and bring deeper clarity and peace. Through community, intention, and quiet reflection, you’ll be supported in exploring and strengthening your spiritual foundation.

What Guests Are Saying
From the staff, excellent program, and the wonderful grounds, OHI is where I go to reset and heal. The friends you make last a long time. This was my first time to the Austin campus. I had been to San Diego twice before. I think Austin is now my favorite. You can’t beat the walking paths. I really can’t say enough. THANK YOU Austin OHI. I had a lovely experience. ❤️❤️

"I believe career starts with ‘care’ and feel blessed to bring my profession and passions full circle here at OHI. As a former guest, I saw OHI as a healing refuge - and now get to return the favor. It took 19 years at P&G followed by a career change into health and wellness, but the journey has been invigorating and I’m excited to help others succeed in their own wellness journeys."
