Job Description

Optimum Health Institute is looking for a Facilitator III to deliver inspirational teachings that empower guests with the tools and knowledge to make positive and profound life transformations. This position will ensure that the body, mind and spirit curriculum of the Free Sacred Trinity Church is delivered to our guests in a professional and caring manner and in adherence with the Church's mission, guiding principles and core values. This position requires a 40% focus on facilitating classes and spiritual activities, a 35% focus on developing programs, materials, and related projects, and a 25% focus on counseling guests. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the fields of education, psychology, social work, ministry, counseling, holistic health, nutrition, nursing or a related field.
  • Three years minimum experience in formal classroom, facilitating adult classes (10-50 attendees), to include creating, developing, and maintaining instructional materials, guides, handouts, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, theory and application preferably in a faith-based, non-profit or healthcare organization.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities so that that programs flow in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Must have the ability to manage difficult or emotional customer interactions.
  • Must be able to articulate clearly and persuasively in a positive manner.
  • Show sensitivity and respect for cultural differences.
  • Demonstrates a high level of self-awareness with a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. 
  • Keen attention to details with the ability to multi-task. 
  • Resourceful and works independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to deal with guests with life-threatening health issues as well as emotional issues. 
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and a positive mental attitude at all times.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn Project Management. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and training and procedure manuals. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Availability to be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. any day of the week.
  • Ability to travel to either San Diego, CA or Austin, Texas to conduct classroom training for up to six hours a day.


Qualifications

Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience in working with a faith-based or non-profit organization. 
  • Training in Theology and Spiritual Direction. 
  • Experience in classes or programs in holistic training and dietary functions.  
  • Knowledge of body systems, basic health care or physiology including physical problems and core dietary functions.  
  • Must pass a background and drug screen.

Spiritual Disciplines
