About Us

The Optimum Health Institute (OHI) is a healing ministry of the Free Sacred Trinity Church, a faith-based organization rooted in Judeo-Christian doctrine that we are created as holistic beings in mind, body and spirit. People of all traditions are welcome to participate in our integrated program for mental, physical, spiritual and emotional healing.

The purpose of the holistic program is to bring the mind, body and spirit into wholeness. Our goal is to assist guests and adherents in achieving optimum health by purifying the body, quieting the mind and creating the sacred space within for building one’s spirituality with God. In a safe environment of faith, love and hope, people witness God’s presence in the healings of themselves and others. Three sequential one week sessions are taught at our two spiritual retreats in the San Diego, California and Austin, Texas areas.

OHI San Diego was founded in 1976, and is situated on 4 landscaped acres in San Diego County. Each week guests and adherents congregate in fellowship, detoxify the body, pray, meditate, exercise, attend classes and heal at this tranquil retreat in southern California.

OHI Austin, founded in 1997 by the Rev. Russell Nees, is a Spanish-style hacienda on 14 wooded acres in rural central Texas just minutes from Austin. The retreat hosts guests and adherents who journey within as they walk serene woodland trails, congregate in fellowship, study, meditate and pray in a monastic like setting.
